Decompression Sickness (the bends)

Decompression sickness, also known as “the bends,” occurs when nitrogen bubbles enter the bloodstream during rapid changes in pressure, or depth, causing ischemia. HBOT reduces size of nitrogen bubbles, allowing them to exit the body safely.
